Conte Wants Injured Moses Back Soon

Chelsea coach Antonio Conte is in prayers for the quick return of injured Victor Moses who got substituted in yesterday’s 1-2 loss to Crystal Palace.

According to chelseafc.com, Conte is sad that his key players are falling to injuries. “For us it’s a very difficult moment because we started the game without Morata and Kante, which isn’t simple. During the game another important player, Moses, had an injury, and I hope to have him back very soon.

“This moment is very difficult for us, to lose three or four players is a big problem but despite this we have to find the will to fight. This season will be very difficult so we have to give 150 per cent, not just 100 per cent, like last season, because that’s not enough. We want to try to be competitive in all competitions but it won’t be easy.

“My job is to be focused on my work with my players and try to do our best. Now, for sure, it’s not an easy moment for us but I think it’s important to find a solution and not look for excuses.’

Next up for the Blues is a Champions League game against Roma at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday, and Conte hopes to have one of his injured players back.

“For sure Moses is out because of his injury. I don’t know if it’s serious, I hope not. Drinkwater is still out. I hope to have Morata back for the game.”

Although he is set to undergo scan to determine the severity of the injury initial reports suggest he could be out for a minimum of six weeks, which effectively rules him out of Nigeria’s next World Cup 2018 Qualifiers against Algeria in Algiers.

In another EPL game, record-breaking Manchester City opened up a two-point lead at the top of the Premier League table with another demonstration of bewildering brilliance in their 7-2 thrashing of Stoke City at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.

Pep Guardiola’s title favourites looked irresistible as goals from Gabriel Jesus, Raheem Sterling and David Silva in the opening half-hour put the seal on their dazzling football and made a sixth straight league win a seeming formality.

Yet against all odds, Mame Biram Diouf pulled one back just before the break and soon after halftime his header deflected off Kyle Walker’s thigh into the net.
