Birthday Boy Ndidi Sent Off, Iheanacho Benched As Palace End Leicester Run

Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi was sent off in Leicester City’s 3-0 Premier League home defeat to Crystal Palace on his 21st birthday on Saturday.

Ndidi was sent off after receiving a second yellow card for diving. His Super Eagles and club teammate Kelechi Iheanacho was benched for the game. Ahmed Musa was left out of the matchday squad.

Goals from Christian Benteke, Wilfred Zaha and Bakary Sako ended Leicester’s run of four straight league wins and took Palace to seven league games without defeat (three wins, four draws).

The win lifted Palace to 14th on 17 points, while Leicester are eighth on 26 points in the league table.
Palace went close five minutes into the game through Jeffrey Schlupp whose dangerous low cross went across Leicester goal without any contact.
