Buhari Appoints New CBN Deputy Governor

President Muhammad Buhari has nominated Mrs Aishah Ahmad to the senate for affirmation as
Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (cbn).

The President's special adviser on media and publicity, Mr Femi Adesina, announced this in a assertion on Thursday in Abuja.
Consistent with the Presidential aide, Ahmad is to update the former deputy Governor, who retired early this year.

He stated the nomination of Ahmad was according to the provisions of phase 8(1) (2) of the Centra bank of Nigeria (establishment) act 2007.

“President Buhari entreated the senate president, Dr Bukola Saraki, to recall the expeditious confirmation of Mrs Ahmad, who might then resume work right away,’’ the declaration introduced.

Adesina stated that the new individuals could update four others whose tenure might expire at the cease of the year.

The new members of the committee are to resume duty in january 2018 after Senate's clearance.
