Miss World finalist dies in auto crash

A Miss World Australia finalist has tragically died following a
head-on car crash with two French tourists who were reportedly
driving on the wrong side of the road.
The beauty pageant organisers said that the 17-year-old, Elyse
Miller-Kennedy, Queensland State’s entrant to the 2016 Miss
World pageant, died on Thursday night after being hospitalised
for over a week with critical head, chest and torso injuries.
They said that the authorities were yet to formally interview the
French driver who was also recovering in hospital from the
crash.

They said that for now any charges would rest with evidence
from forensic investigators.
Madeline Cowe, Miss World Australia, said that the Australian
pageant community is mourning the loss of the girl who was
“so mature, so happy and full of life.”
She described her as a beautiful, amazing girl both inside and
out and she could have done anything she wanted to.
